The Washing Machine Project

Launched: March 2024 Status: Ongoing Every boarding pupil at Dr Graham's Homes lives in a unique Cottage on the campus; it's part of DGH's famous "Cottage System" of accommodation. But with approximately 20 children in each building, there's a huge amount of washing to be done! Unfortunately, not all the DGH Cottages currently have their own washing machine. That's why we've launched the Washing Machine Project. We want to ensure every Cottage has access to its own machine, so the boarding children can comfortably keep on top of all their washing and drying needs. We have initially earmarked four machines for the girls’ cottages that don’t already have one. Each costs between £100 to £120, and they have twin tubs with a separate spin dryer, which will allow the children to part-dry their clothes before they hang them out. This is especially important in the monsoon season, when nothing dries very easily. Could you help with our appeal? We would be so grateful for any contribution you can make.
